Haiti Outreach Ministries (HOM) seeks a dynamic fundraiser to serve as its next Development Director.
The mission of HOM is to share God’s love and the Good News of Christ through strategic partnerships and service that assist the people of Haiti. Throughout periods of political instability, natural disasters, economic challenges, and changing international conditions, HOM has remained steadfast in its commitment to serving the people of Haiti with integrity, compassion, and faith.
As HOM enters its next season of ministry, the organization seeks a Development Director who can help translate a powerful mission and decades of faithful service into a sustainable philanthropic future.
This individual will have the opportunity to build upon HOM’s strong reputation, deepen relationships with existing supporters, cultivate new champions for the mission, and create a comprehensive development program that advances both immediate ministry priorities and long-term organizational sustainability.

Key Responsibilities of the Development Director
Strategic Fundraising Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive development plan aligned with HOM’s strategic priorities.
- Establish annual fundraising goals, donor databases and CRM platforms.
- Use CRM systems to interpret fundraising data and provide strategic and tactical analysis
- Monitor fundraising performance and adjust strategies as needed
Major Gifts and Individual Giving
- Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospective supporters.
- Conduct donor visits, cultivation meetings, and gift solicitations.
- Develop personalized engagement plans that strengthen donor relationships and increase giving.
Church and Ministry Partnerships
- Travel approximately 30% of the time to cultivate relationships with churches, pastors, missions’ committees, and denominational leaders.
- Represent HOM at conferences, church events, mission fairs, and ministry gatherings.
- Expand awareness and support among faith-based communities.
Planned and Legacy Giving
- Design and launch a planned giving and legacy giving program.
- Educate donors regarding long-term giving opportunities.
- Develop sustainable philanthropic resources for future ministry needs.
Grants and Foundation Support
- Research funding opportunities and prepare competitive grant proposals.
- Cultivate relationships with foundation representatives.
- Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements.
Communications and Storytelling
- Collaborate with staff to create compelling donor communications.
- Develop fundraising presentations, newsletters, impact reports, and campaign materials.
- Help donors connect emotionally and spiritually to HOM’s mission.
Board and Volunteer Engagement
- Partner with board members and volunteers to strengthen fundraising efforts.
- Equip ambassadors to effectively communicate HOM’s mission and impact.
- Support a culture of philanthropy across the organization.
- Attend two in-person board meetings annually.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Mission and Faith Alignment
- Deep personal Christian faith consistent with HOM’s mission and values.
- Passion for international ministry, community development, and Christ-centered service.
- Ability to authentically represent HOM to supporters and partners.
Fundraising Leadership
- Demonstrated success securing major gifts and cultivating donor relationships.
- Strategic fundraising mindset and experience developing fundraising plans.
- Ability to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and travel approximately 30% of the time.
Relationship Building
- Natural connector who enjoys building trust and long-term relationships.
- Ability to engage effectively with pastors, donors, volunteers, board members, and community leaders.
- Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
Communication Excellence
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation and storytelling abilities.
- Experience creating donor communications and fundraising materials.
- Grant writing experience preferred.
Systems and Accountability
- Experience using donor databases and CRM platforms.
- Ability to utilize fundraising data and analytics.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.

Salary: The salary range is $90,000-$95,000 plus generous paid time off, reimbursement of approved business expenses, and professional development support. Traditional employer-sponsored health insurance and retirement benefits are not currently provided.
Working Environment/Location: Remote Position/Southeast USA Preferred
