The Team:

Bank of America Yatirim Bank Finance is a team of 5 people reporting into the BOFAYB CFO. The BOFAYB Finance department covers the regulatory & corporate reporting, product control and accounting of an investment bank in Istanbul / Turkey.

Role Description:

  • Local regulatory reporting
  • Monthly Corporate Reporting(Including USGAAP reporting)
  • All local tax calculations & submission to tax authority
  • Daily Product PL, Explain and Reporting, New Deal Risk & PL Analysis
  • PL/BS Reporting & Reconciliation
  • Accounting & Accounts Payable function

BOFAYB is looking to employ a Country Controller to complete the above listed functions. The successful candidate will need to be locally based and will provide an oversight over BRSA rules & regulation as well as other regulatory body rules & regulation. This role is expected to establish an effective regulatory reporting system in line with the communiques and regulations of Banking Law and as published/required by BRSA and other local regulatory bodies like CMB, CBOT, etc.

Responsibilities:

The key objective of this position is to help establish a strong & accountable Finance team which provides the highest quality of service as a support group function both to internal & external stakeholders.

  • Ensure that all local regulatory reports are prepared, in full compliance with the related communiques and regulations as well as the BOFAYB policy and procedures and submitted flawlessly on time with 100% accuracy.
  • Taking part in the internal and external audits, communicating with the auditors, assuring that all requests are prepared and submitted on time and with 100% accuracy
  • Performing daily internal control process to ensure that all bookings are complete and correct
  • Control and approval of daily accounting journals
  • Preparing financials of the bank, analysing the numbers, providing explanation to the fluctuations, investigating any breaks/differences, controlling the internal/external funding process and the liquidity position
  • Substantiation of all B/S accounts, execution of trend analysis and assessing through the cost control.
  • Assuring of all management and Bank of America group specific reports are prepared in full compliance with global procedures and submitted flawlessly on time.
  • Preparing corporate income tax of the bank with respect to both local and Bank of America rule and regulations.

  • Fluent in Turkish and English (Writing, Reading & Speaking)
