Job Description:
This job is responsible for tool and service designs within a technical domain that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance, standards and policies. Key responsibilities include creating infrastructure tools and their integration as a service, facilitating deployment of technical solutions by developing templates, playbooks and automation used during implementation. Job expectations include looking for opportunities to improve efficiency when implementing and maintaining tools/services and embracing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Provides subject matter expertise and consulting services on a range of technologies and assists Technical Analysts and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure that technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards
• Assists with translating business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks for deployment in compliance with architecture standards and policies
• Assists in the evaluation of reference models, blueprints and playbooks to ensure they are fit for purpose
• Develops software solutions to address manual and repeatable work or inefficient processes
• Conducts on-site evaluations of third-party products being considered for firm adoption

Position Summary:

​The candidate will be responsible for supporting/maintaining the DB2 connect Infrastructure components on the z/OS mainframe and the DB2 connect gateway servers on the zLinux platform. This role will include programming to automate tasks and enhance our DB2 Connect Infrastructure support processes. Additionally, you will be assisting application developers in development, debugging efforts by providing technical consultation related to database connectivity into DB2 for z/OS via midrange servers. The role will also provide the opportunity to learn and perform a variety DB2 DBA task.

Required Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of DB2 for z/OS.
• Good knowledge of DB2 utilities and related tools.
• Strong programming skills (REXX, SQL, JCL) for scripting and automation.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills both written and oral are required as the individual must interface with other support teams, developers, and management staff.
• The successful candidate will be required (after suitable training) to participate in a 24x7.
• On call rotation and be required to provide off hours support as necessary.

Desired Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with Splunk for monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with other programming/scripting languages (Java, .Net, Python, Shell script, etc.)
• Familiarity with non-mainframe platform OS like Linux, windows server.
• Background experience with other Mainframe Subsystems (CICS, IMS, MQ)

Min Education: B.S Degree or equivalent experience.
