The Team:
The International RRP & Stress Testing (RRP & ST) team is part of the CFO / Global Financial Controls department and comprises of 12 members based in London and Dublin. The team was established to manage the recovery and resolution planning processes across Bank of America and its subsidiaries and to co-ordinate the production of financial forecasts to produce legal entity stress testing and international recovery financial forecasts.
While Recovery and Resolution Planning is coordinated centrally by Global RRP (GRRP), regional Recovery and Resolution Planning is managed locally and guided by relevant regulation. Stress testing is used to evaluate the impact of severe but plausible scenarios on the financial position of the bank, such as economic downturns or market failure. The impact is assessed in terms of change in values for the bank's balance sheet, capital adequacy, and profitability.
The primary “internal clients” of the International RRP & ST Team are the regional Chief Financial Officers, who act as Accountable Executives, and the regional Boards of Directors, who have ultimate responsibility for Recovery and Resolution Planning and Stress Testing processes/outcomes at the legal entity level.
The primary responsibility of the role is to engage with international regulators as well as internal stakeholders from Legal, Compliance, Finance, Treasury, Capital and Liquidity Management, T&O, Risk Management, and Business Continuity to develop and publish the Recovery & Resolution Planning and Stress Testing deliverables that describe the company’s strategy to respond to and withstand periods of severe financial stress.
Role Overview:
The “RRP and Stress Testing Manager” role will have a wide span of responsibility, supporting highly complex end-to-end projects that fall under the wide umbrella of Stress Testing and RRP, which require regular engagement and interaction with multiple departments across the organization, such as Finance, Treasury, Capital and Liquidity Management, Risk Functions, T&O, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Relations, HR, Corporate Communications, and Business Continuity
As a member of the International RRP & ST team based in London, UK, this role will be responsible for supporting the various non-US regulatory requirements related to recovery and resolution planning, and for supporting the stress testing processes that evaluate the financial condition of the firm under various macroeconomic, business, idiosyncratic and/or operational scenarios to better understand the balance sheet, earnings, capital, and liquidity sensitivities.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be accountable for supporting Stress Testing and RRP-related projects, such as:
Performance of stress testing analysis, development of recovery plans and resolution information templates
Development of resolution planning capabilities, such as Trading activity Wind Down, Valuations in Resolution, etc.
Coordination of recovery and resolution simulation exercises
Coordination of RRP capabilities self-assessments
Monitoring and reviewing Stress Testing and RRP-related laws, rules and regulations,
Supporting engagements with international regulators across the EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regions to understand Stress Testing and RRP requirements,
Providing support on Stress Testing and RRP-related projects to senior management overseeing the BAC international subsidiaries,
Supporting organizational strategy & structure changes, including realignment of legal entities across the international jurisdictions, Legal Entity rationalization efforts, and implementation of Stress Testing and RRP capabilities
What we are looking for:
Experience working in Banking and Financial Services Industry
Education qualifications in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or Law
Experience working in a regulated environment
Familiarity with the principles of Risk Management
Knowledge of Recovery and Resolution Planning
Track record of strategic thinking and business awareness
Ability to interact with senior level executives
Accuracy/quality control – must demonstrate accuracy & thoroughness and monitor own work to ensure quality
Be flexible to work across multiple time zones based on critical timelines
