The Team:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Valuation Specialist to join the Global Valuation Group (GVG) Methodology team at Bank of America. Working as part of the wider Global Banking and Markets CFO team based in London, you will be responsible for providing valuation and independent price verification (IPV) guidance/support to Global Banking and Markets (GBAM) Finance. You will focus on developing and investigating independent product valuation methodologies mostly focusing on Vanilla and Exotics Interest Rates Derivatives.
Responsibilities:
Create, enhance and document independent product valuation methodologies
Enhance market data calibration methodologies and participates to the model control framework
Perform in deep dive of valuation issues and communicate findings to senior stakeholders
Produce valuation updates and partner with business to enforce valuation control
Involvement with model review and market data calibration. You would leverage a combination of quantitative knowledge of financial markets and products with a practical understanding of Interest Rates Derivatives pricing and risk management suitable for critically evaluating the results of control procedures applied
Interaction with senior Finance, Risk, and Trading Stakeholders as well as a Regulator focus. You should be able to clearly communicate highly detailed issues, process, and results to senior stakeholders, business, control partners, regulators and internal/external auditors. Will be able to develop and guide an independent, but constructive, relationship with business and control partners
You will possess excellent technical knowledge of financial markets and products within multiple markets sectors that should be complemented with deep quantitative experience necessary to critically evaluate the results of control procedures applied
Valuation Specialists possess broad knowledge of financial markets, products, and quantitative theory
What we are looking for:
Previous large, complex financial services organization experiences performing valuation control / risk management / model development with technical Vanilla and Exotics Interest Rates Derivatives expertise
Proven management skills with evidence of supporting and developing quantitative resources.
Positive team leading skills required; ability to drive strategic vision, as well as develop and implement new governance and control frameworks
Professional communication skills with ability to communicate complex issues in a simple manner
Programming skills with ability to design, develop and automate
Prior experience influencing and collaborating with stakeholders across functions/divisions.
Experience of regulatory and senior management interaction
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree is highly preferred
Experience across multiple products is preferred, but deep technical experience in a reduced product set is acceptable if you are expandable
