The Team:

The Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities (FICC) & Derivative Core Operations (FDCO) team perform end to end trade control, confirmation and settlements processes across FICC businesses and provides utility OTC derivative confirmation and settlement services for non FICC businesses.

Within FDCO, the teams provide multiple services such as FICC trade control, Foreign Exchange (FX) electronic matching and settlement, Over the Counter (OTC) derivative confirmation and settlement, and commodities operations.

Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced Trading Assistant to cover all activities of the EMEA FICC Trading desks. Sitting on our trading floor, this role is well suited to a conscientious, hardworking, and motivated candidate seeking the opportunity to work closely with Global Markets Front Office and internal/external counterparties across multiple asset classes. This role is primarily responsible for supporting the desk with all trading activities with additional focus on regulatory obligations, product enablement and ad-hoc problem solving across a broad range of FICC products and markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the front office with trade booking and ensures trades are captured accurately between front office risk systems and back office ledgers

  • Responsible for trade capture & validation, adhering to the necessary regulatory framework

  • Monitors and processes time sensitive requests relating to trade bookings, settlement issues and/or downstream feeds

  • Resolves risk and P&L issues in a timely manner in collaboration with front office teams

  • Addresses client issues in partnership with sales and client management teams

  • Develops cross-asset product knowledge by utilizing knowledge of financial instruments accounting

  • Partners with existing teams globally to achieve the best in class controls and practices in trade support

  • Negotiates delicate decision points around client on-boarding choices

What we are looking for:

  • Experience of working with Fixed Income/FX and Structured products, preferably from a Trading Support or other Front Office facing role

  • Working knowledge of current regulatory landscape (SFTR, MIFID2, CSDR)

  • Inquisitive and analytical mindset

Skills that will help:

  • Excellent Operational Risk awareness & understanding of the importance of robust internal controls
