The Quantitative Strategies and Data Group (QSDG) is seeking an Associate/VP for a Hong Kong based role covering the Prime Financing business.

Primarily focusing on tools, analysis, pricing, optimization, risk, workflow and P&L; the role requires strong technical skills and an ability to work directly with trading, in a fast paced environment, to help deliver on the strategic objectives for the equity business. Strong communication skills and an ability to work both individually and part of a team is a must.

In this role you will:

  • Develop understanding of the Prime Financing Business covering physical prime brokerage, equity swaps and stock loan.
  • Gain experience working directly with trading desks providing analytics covering pricing, profitability, risk and execution.
  • Enhance existing inventory management models and infrastructure.
  • Develop P&L, client profitability, regulatory capital and other analytical tools for the trading desk.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors/Masters/PhD in technical discipline (Computer Science/Applied Mathematics/Physics/Engineering/Statistics)
  • Strong programming, analytical and data skills. Familiarity with data structures
  • Familiarity with object oriented and functional programming (Python preferred)
  • Working knowledge of relational/column-based databases
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills – able to present complex material in a simple manner
  • Experience working in a front-office role is beneficial
  • Knowledge of and experience working with prime brokerage/derivatives/financing products is helpful
  • Experience with portfolio optimization and factor risk models a plus
  • Experience with machine learning techniques a plus
