Job Title: Stormwater Specialist

Position Overview The Stormwater Specialist is a foundational operational role designed for individuals eager to master the business functions of Foster Lake & Pond Management. This position focuses on learning company operations, specific stormwater maintenance protocols, and safety standards. The Stormwater Specialist is expected to uphold the company’s Core Values, gain hands-on experience, and pursue industry-specific certifications.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Learning & Skill Development

  • Cross-Departmental Training: Show progress and receive positive feedback across multiple divisions, including Preventative Maintenance, Construction & Repair, Retail, and Corrective Maintenance.
  • Equipment Mastery: Learn and become proficient in basic equipment and facility maintenance, completing all tasks on the proficiency checklist by the end of the first year.
  • Versatility: Demonstrate a willingness to assist in all operations and perform necessary tasks to complete jobs efficiently.

Compliance & Training

  • Certifications: Attend and pass the Stormwater Control Measure (SCM) Inspection certification and the NC Aquatic Pesticide Applicator’s exam within the first year of employment.
  • Policy Adherence: Learn, embody, and follow the company's Core Values, Vision Statement, and Employee Handbook within the first 3 months.
  • Safety: Strictly abide by safety policies and actively participate in scheduled safety meetings.

Communication & Administration

  • Digital Proficiency: Utilize company software effectively, including the time app (daily), Outlook (daily), and HR software.
  • Fleet Maintenance: Learn the vehicle maintenance system and independently complete inspections within 6 months.
  • Responsiveness: Respond to emails within 2 business days and texts/calls during working hours. Provide monthly feedback via company software.

Education & Experience

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Associate degree or related experience in landscaping, environmental management, fisheries science, or stormwater device maintenance.
  • Desirable Skills: Experience with aquatic vegetation, turf maintenance, boat operation/trailering, electric motor installation, or heavy equipment operation.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
  • Comfort working in and around water, mud, and various weather conditions/environmental hazards.
  • Ability to withstand strenuous physical activity and operate hand tools/pumps.
  • Capability to travel, with occasional overnight trips required.
