Manager of IT Infrastructure

Overview:
CBC is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager with a hands-on background in networking, network security, and servers. This role requires a strong understanding of overall end-to-end IT infrastructure design and management principles, tools, and best practices, along with the ability to drive change management and documentation. The ideal candidate is a proactive, forward-thinking professional with strong communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. This is not an entry-level position.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Infrastructure Management:
- Maintain a broad understanding of the company’s various IT infrastructures. Own the roadmap to keep systems healthy and secure.
- Supervise a team of engineers, prioritize and complete multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Facilitate regular stand-ups, 1-on-1 check-ins, performance reviews, change reviews, and incident management while documenting results.
- Own the asset management, patching, ordering, RMA, budgeting, and lifecycle of IT infrastructure.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout infrastructure project lifecycles.
- Partner with relevant stakeholders to build relationships with other technical teams and deliver cohesive plans and processes in alignment with best practices.
Networking:
- Influence the design, operations, and monitoring of a multi-site IP network.
- Understand how network topologies, protocols, and DNS affect servers, applications, web, cloud, VoIP, etc.
- Assess cabling infrastructure and switching readiness for future growth.
Leadership and Strategy:
- Demonstrate thought leadership and mentorship on infrastructure management and design.
- Engage and influence key IT, internal customer, and vendor stakeholders.
- Stay current with the latest trends and provide expert advice and guidance on how best to adapt and improve.
- Adapt quickly to change and respond to ambiguous situations.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with cybersecurity, service desk, and company leadership to ensure they have the information and resources needed to be an effective and cohesive team.
- Assist in the management of incidents and escalations.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and skillsets of the team, providing continuous improvement and training as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Fluency in spoken and written English with demonstrable ability to write clear and concise documentation without the assistance of AI.
- 5+ years' direct experience in IT infrastructure operations management.
- 4+ years' direct experience in employee management and engagement.
- 3+ years’ direct experience in IP network management and design.
- 2+ years’ direct experience in server administration or engineering.
- At least an associate’s degree and relevant IT certifications.
- Confidence to facilitate meetings and manage stakeholders effectively.
- Assertiveness to get the data, deliverables, and outcomes required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent understanding of IT concepts: multi-site network architecture, DNS, virtualization, email, certificates, cloud, and security technologies.
- Experience with: Fortinet, Ruckus, Meraki, Nutanix, Windows Servers, VoIP.
- Advanced level IT networking or engineering certifications.
- Current ITIL certification.
- Understanding of document and data retention policies and processes.

- Able to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds boxes.

- Navigate an office environment and security doors.
- Operate computers, phones, and conference room equipment.
- Occasional need to navigate data center or data closets.
- Occasional project work on holidays/weekends/on call.
- Occasional travel to other CBC sites as necessary.
