Overview:

We are seeking friendly and attentive individuals to join our team as a Baseball Picnic Patrol member. In this role, you will ensure a clean, safe, and enjoyable experience for guests in designated picnic and group seating areas at the stadium. You will assist with event setup, maintain cleanliness, and provide excellent customer service to enhance the game-day experience. This is a part time, seasonal, game day position.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Greet and assist guests in the picnic and group seating areas, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness by clearing trash, wiping tables, and restocking supplies as needed
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of picnic areas before and after events
  • Ensure guests follow stadium policies and safety guidelines within the picnic zones
  • Provide directions, answer questions, and assist guests with any concerns or special requests
  • Work closely with stadium operations, security, and food service teams to ensure a seamless experience
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly to the appropriate staff
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor while engaging with guests
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills with a positive and helpful attitude
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
  • Comfortable standing, walking, and lifting light objects for extended periods
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or event management is a plus

Physical Demands:

  • This role requires continuous mobility and physical activity. You must be able to stand and walk for extended periods—often for the entire duration of an event (typically 4-6+ hours)—throughout assigned picnic and group seating areas
  • Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, and reach to clear tables, collect trash, and wipe down surfaces
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds, such as bags of trash, cases of supplies, bundles of tablecloths, and portable signage
  • Must be able to safely navigate through crowded, high-traffic areas while carrying items
  • Involves repetitive motions such as wiping, lifting, and carrying throughout the shift

Work Conditions:

  • This position works almost exclusively outdoors in uncovered picnic zones and group seating areas. You will be exposed to all seasonal weather conditions including direct sun, heat, humidity, rain, and cooler evening temperatures. There is limited access to climate-controlled areas
  • The work setting is highly public, fast-paced, and focused on group hospitality. The environment can be loud, crowded, and energetic, especially during high-attendance games and events
  • Hours are entirely event driven. This requires absolute availability for all home games, which include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts typically begin 60-90 minutes before gates open and may extend through the end of the game. Flexibility for special events, rain delays, or double-headers is required
  • This role involves routine exposure to typical outdoor elements, food/beverage waste, and standard cleaning supplies
  • As a visible representative of the team, you are expected to maintain a neat appearance and a proactive, service-oriented attitude at all times. Adherence to all stadium safety, sanitation, and customer service protocols is mandatory

Benefits:

  • Exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic sports environment
  • Complimentary Durham Bulls branded polo shirt
