Overview:

Change someone’s life every single night as an Evening Lottery Draw Host. WRAL is seeking an energetic, polished, punctual, and reliable individual to be one of the on-air faces of televised lottery drawings, bringing real emotion and high energy reveals to every winning moment. This role is responsible for delivering live and recorded lottery drawings with professionalism, accuracy, and enthusiasm while ensuring strict adherence to compliance and security procedures. The ideal candidate is confident in front of the camera, comfortable with live broadcasting, and able to engage audiences with a warm and trustworthy presence.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Host live 11:22pm drawing and occasional 3pm lottery drawing broadcasts in a professional, engaging, and compliant manner.
  • Accurately announce winning numbers, jackpot amounts, promotional information, and sponsor messaging.
  • Follow all lottery security, compliance, and auditing procedures during broadcasts.
  • Collaborate closely with producers, directors, auditors, and technical staff to ensure smooth execution of drawings.
  • Maintain composure and professionalism during live television situations and unexpected production changes.
  • Participate in rehearsals, promotional shoots, community appearances, and marketing campaigns as needed.
  • Represent the organization positively during public events, interviews, and social media content opportunities.
  • Review scripts, graphics, and drawing procedures before airtime to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrityregardinglottery operations and security processes.

Drawing Shift Hours & Arrivals:

  • Hosts report to lottery draw team by 10:15pm for scheduled evening shift and 2:00pm for scheduled daytime shifts
  • Evening shift hours are approximately 10:15pmto 11:45pm
  • Day shift hours are approximately 2:00pm to 3:30pm
  • Drawing out times may vary. Shifts could end earlier than stated shift out time but not to exceed Midnight for the Evening drawings, and not to exceed 4pm for the afternoon drawings.
  • Shifts are paid as a Performance/Appearance flat rate.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous on-camera, broadcasting, hosting, public speaking, or entertainment experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable performing live on television and in front of large audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly during live productions.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Flexible schedules,including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for drawing schedules.
  • Basic understanding of television production environments preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in television, radio, or live event hosting.
  • Experience reading cue cards or teleprompter.
  • Strong improvisation and audience engagement abilities.
  • Familiarity with compliance-driven environments and regulated industries.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during productions and events.
  • Ability to occasionally lift files, office materials, or packages up to 15 pounds.
  • Unobstructed vision and hearing required for meetings, presentations, and reviewing financial documents.
  • Ability to move about an office environment and attend meetings in various office locations.

Work Conditions:

  • Television studio and production environments.
  • Fast-paced live broadcast settings with strict timing requirements.
