Massage therapists help clients relax and recuperate through therapeutically massaging soft tissues and joints. These professionals are trained to assess the client's soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion and to apply finger and hand pressure to specific points of the body.

Durham Tech's Massage Therapy Continuing Education program prepares students for both state and national massage therapy licensing exams through classwork and practical, hands-on training. Topics include education, anatomy and physiology, pathology, kinesiology, communication, client evaluation, technique, pain relief, stress management, professional standards, and practice management.
