They assist biological and medical scientists by setting up, operating, and maintaining lab instruments and equipment. They also make observations, monitor lab work, and examine specimens to detect the presence of disease. </p> <p>The Associate in Science degree at Durham Tech and the Biotechnology Associate in Applied Science degrees prepare students to pursue this career path. Coursework covers biology, chemistry, engineering, geology, math, and physics.
