These professionals are trained to assess the client's soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion and to apply finger and hand pressure to specific points of the body. </p> <p>Durham Tech's Massage Therapy Continuing Education program prepares students for both state and national massage therapy licensing exams through classwork and practical, hands-on training. At Durham Technical Community College, students can work their way toward a vocational certificate or a transfer to a four-year university to pursue a bachelor's degree. The choice is up to you, as is the choice of which of Durham's many academic programs to study! Programs for transfer include everything from Nursing to Criminal Justice, and Durham Tech has transfer agreements with a number of area colleges, sending many of its students to UNC Chapel Hill and North Carolina Central University. Tuition for residents of North Carolina is significantly reduced as compared to out-of-state tuition costs. Financial aid is available to those who qualify.
