Role

As an Associate Financial Analyst with Fidelity Charitable, you will play a key role in delivering impactful and valuable reporting to the Director, VP and Head of Finance and internal business partners. Your primary responsibilities will consist of business measurement reporting & analysis, financial reporting, and functional support. This role will help you develop and expand the finance skills that will facilitate growth into a financial analyst role.

The Fidelity Investments Charitable Gift Fund (“the charity”) is a public charity that sponsors the largest national donor-advised fund program. Since 1991, the charity has introduced tens of thousands of donors to the benefits — and increased charitable impact — of using a donor-advised fund to meet their philanthropic goals. The charity is governed by an independent Board of Trustees, which has hired Fidelity Charitable, a business unit of Fidelity Investments, as the service provider of the charity. These services include, but are not limited to, Program Development, Investment Management, Service Delivery, Marketing, Tax preparation, Technology, Compliance and Fundraising.

Expertise and Skills you Bring

  • Prepare, analyze and deliver recurring Fidelity Charitable business and financial results. Examples include:

  • Business Measurement & Analysis: Bi-weekly update for the President of Fidelity Charitable, Executive Scorecard, Monthly Finance Highlights, Quarterly Business Reviews, Daily Contributions, Monthly Flash Report, Branch compensation

  • Financial Reporting: Functional expense reporting and analysis for the Senior Leadership Team

  • Participate in statistical and financial forecasting, budgeting and multi-year planning process

  • Support the development of annual Fundraising goals

  • Develop into a subject matter authority on the Fidelity Charitable Data Warehouse

  • Participate in projects and meetings both within the business and the Finance function

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Finance, Accounting, or related field)

  • 0-2 years of related experience

  • Understanding of financial and accounting principles

  • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Highly self-motivated, flexible, and quality focused individual with excellent communication skills

  • Detail oriented while maintaining a broad view of business objectives

  • Ability to understand how information flows in a sophisticated environment

  • Willingness to learn and ask questions

  • Willingness to take initiative to identify and resolve data challenges

  • Ability to work across functions and develop positive working relationships

  • Ability to adapt, remain focused and positive in a changing environment

  • Ability to balance several priorities at once

  • Ability to be effective working both independently and within a team

  • Passion for the non-profit sector and its mission for philanthropy
