Job Description:

The Fidelity Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations (EI&O) Datacenter and Network team is seeking a seasoned technology executive with strong expertise in network operations. This role will be accountable for establishing and executing a network operating model that emphasizes observability, operational procedures via automation, disciplined ITSM practices, and proactive issue mitigation. This leader will work closely with leaders across network engineering functions to support and manage the operational readiness of all changes to Fidelity’s global network. In addition to strong technical competency, the role requires the ability to effectively lead in a large-scale enterprise environment with geographically diverse teams, build and leverage partner relationships, and provide innovative thought leadership.

The Expertise You Have and The Skills You Bring

  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise operations and IT networking field

  • Experience operating and supporting large-scale multivendor network environments

  • Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting and observability

  • Experience with technology lifecycle management, vulnerability management and industry best practices

  • Experience with enterprise IT service management platforms and ITIL

  • Experience with Lean / Agile based technology delivery teams

  • Capable of partnering with and influencing individuals at all organizational levels

  • Experience and knowledge in building strategies and a vision for implementing improvements.

  • Experience supporting cloud-based networking technologies

  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical reasoning skills

  • Ability to partner and collaborate with other technical leadership and their teams

  • Strong leadership and communication skills including the ability to influence other teams, build associate development plans, coach and mentor others

  • Ability to lead root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrences and identify potential technology, training or process remediation

The Focus of the Role

Incident Management: Drive best in class incident response and mitigation with tiered support capabilities and automated remediation.

Observability – Establish health and performance measurability at all layers of the network with a focus on analytics and predictive capabilities.

Service Introduction – Responsible for the operationalization of new capabilities and enhancements across all network products and services.

Written and Verbal Communication - Express complex issues in a clear and concise manner with the ability to foster critical thinking and action

Operations Model – Challenge the status quo and lead operating model changes that drive quality, stability and efficiency.

  • IP Networks – LAN, WAN, VxLAN, DMVPN, MPLS, SDWAN, Protocols

  • Network Security - firewalls, intrusion prevention & detection, segmentation, NAC

  • Traffic Management - network and application load balancers, GSLB

  • DDI - DNS, DHCP, IPAM

  • Network Proxy – Web, Socks, Plug, API/XML gateway

  • Infrastructure Automation – Python, Ansible, Netconf, gNMI

  • Network Tools – packet analyzers, packet brokers, flow analyzers, configuration management, monitoring and performance management tools
