Designs, implements, and modernizes enterprise platforms to enable application teams to deploy and run Application Programming interfaces (APIs) in the Cloud using automation and integrated security and testing. Runs applications and code in the Cloud to collect and monitor operational data using AWS services (EC2, Lambda, and Cloud Watch). Develops software applications using programming languages -- Python, JavaScript, and Java. Operates Splunk or Splunk Cloud to provide end-to-end visibility. Instruments, generates, collects, and exports telemetry data to analyze software performance and behavior using Prometheus, Opentelemetry, Grafana, and M3. Develops, builds, and deploys EKS applications by writing and enhancing internal CI/CD pipelines. Develops IaaC using Terraform to apply a fully modularized approach and to keep the code DRY.
Primary Responsibilities:
Interprets large data sets using query languages and visualization tools.
Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects and proposes modifications and improvements based on user need.
Develops software system tests and validation procedures, programs, and documentation.

Identifies and creates technical solutions to improve the developer experience for application teams in Cloud environments.
Improves and tests Cloud security of applications within AWS environments.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) analyzing AWS Cloud-based and brokerage-related applications in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) analyzing AWS Cloud-based and brokerage-related applications in a financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Formation Templates; performing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) function using DevOps related automation tools – Artifactory, EC2 and Lambda; and coordinating source code using Git.
DE executing Cloud development and application migration using AWS; containerizing applications using Kubernetes, Docker, and Docker Images; developing SDLC, DevSecOps, and automation software using Python, NodeJS, Java, and CloudWatch.
DE creating scalable software systems and implementing observability using Datadog and Splunk; and building and operating resilient platforms using Terraform and Jenkins in AWS Cloud environments.
DE designing and developing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using Groovy and Linux on a Jenkins Core platform.
