Position Description:
Builds complex and scalable J2EE applications using Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Hibernate, Kafka, Maven, GIT, Jenkins, and uDeploy. Deploys to software applications using Cloud-based development methodologies -- WS, RDS, S3, Lambda, and Azure Storage across Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure platforms. Develops Serverless applications using Azure Functions. Implements Cloud data warehousing and lake solutions using Snowflake. Crafts and develops RESTful Web Services using Java technologies. Develops microservices, messaging/event driven frameworks (using Kafka), and enterprise databases. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
- Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
- Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
- Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
- Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
- Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
- Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) building multi-tier distributed software applications for regulatory disclosure reporting within an equity compensation and financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) building multi-tier distributed software applications for regulatory disclosure reporting within an equity compensation and financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) implementing employer contribution management systems according to business requirements, architecture standards, and Agile methodologies, using Java/J2EE technologies, Azure Cloud, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Hibernate, frameworks, JIRA, and Confluence; participating in Agile ceremonies -- SCRUM, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming; developing orchestration and high performant application components, using Kafka and Camel; and identifying and providing solutions for performance bottlenecks, using Datadog, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
- DE developing back-end services on Oracle database, using SQL, PL/SQL, and SQL Developer; performing deployment operations using Continuous Integration (CI) tools -- Jenkins and Maven; performing configuration management using GIT stash; and performing Test Driven Development (TDD), using Unit and JUnit testing techniques and SONAR.
- DE designing and implementing front-end Web applications according to industry standards, using Angular and Visual code.
- DE deploying distributed financial reporting applications for application build and release management on Docker/Rancher, Kubernetes, Tomcat, Jenkins, GIT Stash, uDeploy, Artifactory, and Maven.
