Position Description:
Develops Web applications using NodeJS, ExpressJS, NestJS, or GraphQL. Develops modern Web applications using JavaScript or TypeScript technology stack. Builds Web experiences that provide simplified and personalized planning and advice services for customers. Accesses and retrieves data using Observer Patterns or Reactive Extensions for Java Script (RXJS). Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Participates in architecture design teams.
Defines and implements application-level architecture.
Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
Advises senior management on technical strategy.
Mentors junior team members.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing Web and API development following Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes and Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) methodology in a financial service environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing Web and API development following Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes and Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) methodology in a financial service environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing highly scalable, distributed Web applications using front-end Web technologies -- Angular, JavaScript/Typescript, Node JS, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap; and implementing Monorepo to build Web applications in a single repository and NX frameworks using support libraries -- ESLint, Storybook, and NgRx -- within the financial services industry.
DE developing RESTful API’s for integration with front-end applications using NodeJS; conducting functional, integration, and performance testing to ensure application reliability using mocking tools -- Wiremock, mockAPI, and Postman tools; testing Web and mobile applications using Jest, Cypress, and Cucumber; and performing unit testing using Jest, Mocha, and Junit.
DE developing highly scalable GraphQL APIs for integration with multi-platform front-end applications with varying data requirements; and sourcing API data from complex state and cache management sources (platform APIs) to create consistent, predictable cross platform APIs using NestJS.
DE performing application design, development, and testing using Karma, Selenium, Mocha, Junit, Puppeteer, and Cypress according to design patterns, Agile methodologies, and Test and Behavior Driven Development (TDD and BDD).
