Designs, builds, and maintains technology platforms and products using Java, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Spring, Web Services, Angular, React js, Node js, GraphQL and SQL. Implements process improvements within Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) environments using Agile and Waterfall. Incorporates and streamlines test automation into software application builds using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools -- Jenkins, AWS cloud, Stash, and Git. Performs test automation using JUnit and Selenium. Transmits data in Web applications tools -- JSON, XML, REST, and SOAP. Implements Test Driven Development (TDD) within Unit testing frameworks using REST Assured. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects.
Proposes modifications and improvements based on user need.
Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and modernizing legacy applications, and testing and debugging highly scaled secure applications.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and modernizing legacy applications, and testing and debugging highly scaled secure applications.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing responsive web applications using Java-based frameworks -- Spring MVC and Spring Boot -- and using REST APIs, SQL, XML, and JSON; implementing client-side logic using JavaScript or TypeScript, and using Node.js, React.js, Angular, HTML5, and CSS3; and performing unit testing using JUnit and automation testing using Selenium and Cucumber.
DE containerizing applications with Docker, orchestrating with Kubernetes and monitoring with Splunk, Grafana and Data dog; implementing continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Jenkins CI/CD and following DevOps best practices; and automating the build, test and deployment process applications in AWS cloud environment.
DE implementing robust authentication mechanisms -- JWT and OAuth -- to securely authenticate users; and utilizing authorization techniques to control access to resources based on roles and permissions.
DE collaborating with cross functional teams including business analysts, UI/UX designers, and software engineers to gather requirements, provide technical guidance and deliver high quality Java-based software solutions.
