Manages the execution of sprint goals, quarterly roadmaps, and yearly outcomes, using Jira, Jira Align, and MS Visio. Collaborates with architecture, operations, and engineering experts to set vision and strategy for product lines in a matrixed environment. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions. Leads product planning processes and long-term strategy by identifying disruptive innovations, broader business and technology trends, and assumptions that may affect product and business strategy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Measures performance against established objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Translates business needs into functional requirements to support technology changes.
- Partners with leaders to influence decisions, roadmaps, and resource requirements.
- Delivers new features and capabilities.
- Ensures respective products or services are available, stable, performant, and supported.
- Ensures Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) are in place.
- Manages product capabilities throughout the product management lifecycle.
- Conducts work simplification and measurement studies.
- Prepares operations and procedure manuals to assist management.
- Drives software delivery across a globally distributed team.
- Advises senior management on technical strategy.
- Provides guidance, training, and coaching to team members.
- Identifies and plans for future resource needs.
- Determines technical approaches at a strategic level for the business unit.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, IT Product Management (or closely related occupation) designing and developing software solutions in an Oracle environment within the financial services industry.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, IT Product Management (or closely related occupation) designing and developing software solutions in an Oracle environment within the financial services industry.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) triaging and resolving complex asset management and financial reporting and data anomalies within the portfolio construction, trading, and research capabilities, using Oracle, Informatica Power Center, Snowflake, Autosys, and ETL.
- DE developing reports using Tableau and OBIEE; developing data processing solutions using Oracle 11g, 12c, and PL/SQL with Toad and SQL Developer; developing ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter and UNIX shell scripts; running batch jobs using Autosys; and developing context and data flow diagrams.
- DE managing the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) -- engaging with business stakeholders, architecture, and technology partners to build and maintain data platforms -- according to Agile methodologies; and leveraging Scrum to visualize and manage sprint planning implemented using Jira.
- DE building and promoting Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices by integrating DevOps tools (Jenkins, Stash, Nexus, and uDeploy) for automated deployments.
