Job Description:

Digital Solutions Squad Lead

You will work in partnership with Digital Solutions Technology team to develop products and custom client solutions with Fidelity Workplace Consulting (FWC) business/practice leaders. You will blend product expertise with a passion for delivering results in an agile format while managing to client deadlines. You will partner with other leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions and roadmaps, define the requirements, and coordinate with the business and squad to deliver specific results. You will ensure your products or services are available, stable, performant, and supported when required and that related cost and maintenance is handled appropriately. You'll ensure alignment on the what and when of the work performed by the squad by supporting ongoing planning and prioritization, to enable the squad to work effectively with the business. You will also be committed to maintaining and developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role including understanding the voice of the client and the business.

By role modeling and promoting Fidelity leadership principles, you will promote and sustain an innovative agile culture and connect the business to the team to efficiently complete multi-client growth initiatives.

  • Think strategically about client & user needs, product design and architecture.

  • Lead delivery of digital tools through supporting the business in identifying business problems and opportunities for digital solutions, rapid experimentation and business case development.

  • Identifying and implementing standardization wherever possible to streamline repeatable processes and reduce risk

  • Collaborating with Chapter Leads, and other Squad Leads to identify, maintain and prioritize technical tasks including Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) and drive continuous improvement items.

  • Support small client and product development work based on available capacity to provide an opportunity for our team to continue growing their technical skills and industry knowledge.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, partners, subject matter authorities, leadership and development team on priorities and delivery status

  • Help manage the priorities and provide technical expertise for the Data team. Responsible for acting as a single point of accountability for the Data Engineering practices and ensure appropriate governance is in place.

  • Proactively partner with Chapter Lead, Product Area, Center of Excellence, and Squad Leaders to influence strategic backlog and prioritization decisions for Data team.

  • Scope projects for timelines and costs for client and product work for your squad. Learn to manage to those budgets and communicate those budgets on a monthly basis.

The Squad Leader (SL) works on documenting and translating complex business requirements through the use of Agile features/epics and stories. The SL works as a subject matter authority for the scrum teams and drives the effort for epic level validation to ensure the highest level of integrity, accuracy, and overall quality are included in the end product.

As we grow and develop this team, the SL will help institute standard processes, define the product roadmaps and work closely with the Squad, business SMEs, marketing and sales, and clients.

The Expertise We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience

  • 7+ years of related experience (project management, business analysis, consulting, product development)

  • Proven experience with Scrum & how Agile development teams complete Agile projects

  • 5+ years of related product management experience, systems development, product development, and/or project/product management

  • Agile experience required

  • Expertise in defining Product Visions and business cases, building Product Roadmaps, refining product backlogs, defining Minimum Marketable Features (MMFs) and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs)

  • Balancing Feature development, fixes, and maintenance against planned released dates

  • Proficiency in product positioning, pricing and growth strategies

  • Consistent record building trust-based positive relationships – within teams and across partner groups

  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, user stories, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis

  • Strong attention to detail and a meticulous focus on delivering quality output

  • Participate in the user acceptance process to validate the solution (feature level validation)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and frequently ambiguous environment

  • Ability to understand the big picture and relationships of each capability to the others across the program

  • JIRA (or similar ALM tool) experience required

  • Intellectually curious and model a culture of learning and mentorship

  • Ensure that the final design and delivered enhancements meet the business requirements

  • Develop and implement documentation including test plans and end user procedures

  • Participate in program meetings, FWC planning sessions, feature definition sessions and scrum and triage meetings as needed

  • Ability to create process flows and wireframes in order to clearly communicate a set of requirements

  • Measuring performance through established critical metrics and deliver agreed upon business, technology, and people results

  • Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost and timelines

  • Establish standard processes in developing and maintaining a product within FWC.

  • Drive growth of FWC by efficiently delivering products that meet our client’s needs.
