The Role
As a Product Owner with in Architecture and Technology Foundation (ATF) you will play a pivotal role in crafting the future of our event streaming and messaging capabilities. You will lead the product strategy, development, and delivery of key capabilities and features - Kafka, EMS, ActiveMQ Artemis, Notification Systems, and other real-time event and messaging technologies. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic product leadership, driving innovation and scalability across our high-performant streaming solutions.
With ATF being technology bedrock for Asset Management Technology (AM Tech), it is essential you bring a good blend of technical, process and product management knowledge to be successful. This is an exciting chance to create a significant impact by playing a key role in AM Tech, collaborating closely with various collaborators to ensure our products meet high standards.
The Value You Deliver
- Define and maintain the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for event streaming and caching platforms & solutions.
- Lead quarterly and annual planning, aligning product goals with business strategy and technology roadmaps.
- Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring delivery of high-impact features and platform improvements.
- Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines
- Collaborating and coordinating with Engineering Leaders and Scrum Masters to build squad capacity and capability and enabling squad member growth, development, and learning.
- Defining, evaluating, and communicating results through feedback, usage and performance metrics.
- Conduct market and internal research to see opportunities for innovation and optimization. Produce scaled up ideas which would further business goals and capabilities
- Drive product lifecycle from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring alignment with
Product Leader Experience/Skills
- Capable of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building high performing teams.
- Customer focused approach to understanding customer needs, translate strategic objectives into action, making decisions, and prioritize to improve value delivered.
- Ability to break requirements into clear and concise agile tasks with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria and optimally communicate.
- Focused on execution and identify, communicate, and remove impediments to progress.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships as you work closely across Fidelity to deliver business outcomes and seek out the expertise of colleagues to advise on your approach.
- Intellectually curious and model a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching technology strategy.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in end-to-end technology solution delivery, with a focus on event streaming or related technologies.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architectures, distributed systems, stream processing, and messaging strategies.
- Hands-on expertise with Apache Kafka, Kafka Streams, KSQL, Messaging – Pub/Sub, or similar technologies.
- Full Stack development exposure with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Typescript, Oracle, Snowflake, CI/CD Pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Demonstrated success in quarterly and annual product planning, roadmap execution, and alignment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and agile delivery skills.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), AWS, Kafka are a plus.
