Designs and develops software applications and test automation suites using Object Oriented Design (OOD) methodologies. Implements Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and test automation pipelines using Jenkins and Git. Develops test cases to test the behavior of software functionality using Behavior Driven Development (BDD) methodologies and tools -- Cucumber. Participates in Agile testing strategies for system conversion activities. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Participates in architecture design teams.
Defines and implements application-level architecture.
Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
Advises senior management on technical strategy.
Mentors junior team members.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing software solutions for automated testing of healthcare and benefit administration systems.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing software solutions for automated testing of healthcare and benefit administration systems.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing responsive and reliable applications with an emphasis on test automation and testing frameworks, using Java and J2EE server-side technologies – Spring and Spring-Boot.
DE executing quality assurance testing of APIs using Java frameworks, Cucumber, RestAssured, TestNG, SOAPUI, Swagger and POSTMAN; Analyzing Agile JIRA stories; creating test cases in JIRA; executing test cases on Postman; creating defects and reports using JIRA-Xray; performing version control using Git Stash; maintaining release notes and documentation using JIRA; performing story tracking using JIRA; and conducting automation frameworks integration with CI/CD pipelines.
DE building and maintaining data mining scripts and SQL queries using DBeaverSQL developer and validating data by writing SQL queries to support business requirements and provide services to end users on PostgreSQL database. Building automation frameworks; writing Java code to create and execute test automation for mobile testing, using Selenium Web Driver, Cucumber Serenity Framework, and Appium.
DE integrating Java based test automation into test reporting systems to analyze test status and defect tracking across projects; and maintaining regression suites using Jenkins jobs to ensure stability and continuous validation of systems under test with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
