Position Description:

Supports the design and delivery of business-critical technologies in an Agile environment. Facilitates sessions with technology and business partners using problem statements, customer journey maps, story mapping, use case, process flow, and context diagrams, data flows, and mock-ups to inform solution design. Analyzes business and client experiences and technology opportunities. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions. Implements technical production support standards, using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and DevOps best practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reviews project plans and Agile stories to manage project activity.
  • Self-manages workload as an individual contributor
  • Evaluates data and data trends to assess project feasibility, client needs, and requirements.
  • Evaluates the organization's technology use and needs, and recommends solutions and improvements.
  • Works with peers to create and lead data and systems analysis to identify gaps, dependencies, and risks impacting the ability to deliver against business priorities.
  • Defines, drives, and influences product roadmaps.
  • Supports the delivery of digital products in support of client acquisition and retention initiatives.
  • Oversees the alignment of future business needs with technology teams and capabilities.
  • Identifies and assists in prioritizing initiatives to enhance processes and development of the technology.
  • Defines the requirements for the technical implementation of cross-divisional product features.
  • Supports product area-wide initiatives and works closely with respective business partners in support of initiatives.
  • Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad areas on complex product area-wide projects.
  • Regularly provides guidance and training to other team members for performance development.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Product Development (or closely related occupation) developing and maintaining CICS (online) and Batch applications on mainframe and Web applications in an integrated development environment.

Or, alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Product Development (or closely related occupation) developing and maintaining CICS (online) and Batch applications on mainframe and Web applications in an integrated development environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing strategy development for technology-based products and solutions -- opportunity identification and evaluation, competitive benchmarking, business case development, and influencing senior management’s strategic decisions -- using a data-driven approach in the financial services industry.
  • DE driving the development, maintaining, and supporting Web, Informatica ETL, SAS, and mainframe batch applications according to Agile and Waterfall methodologies; and implementing and promoting DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices in development, quality assurance, and production environments, using Jenkins, Concourse, uDeploy, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) DevOps.
  • DE in the implementation of $1 million+ product and business development initiatives used by 100,000+ customers in an Agile environment -- requirements definition, prioritization of product backlog, and ensuring timely delivery of capabilities to customers by leading global matrixed teams to enable high performance and enhancement of the customer experience.
  • DE executing all phases of the product development lifecycle -- applying design strategy and methodologies, performing requirements analysis, and creating supporting artifacts, including use cases, data flow, and process flow diagrams – using Visio, Mural, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint; creating User Interface (UI) designs and prototypes using wireframing tools -- Sketch, UXPin, or Invision; and maintaining Information Technology (IT) project plans, using Jira, DOMO, Confluence, and Agile methodologies.
