Designs and develops advanced software engineering and automation solutions, using programming languages (Python, JavaScript, and Ansible) and cloud-native technologies (AWS Lambda). Builds and customizes ServiceNow (SNOW) forms to support enterprise workflows. Architects and implements event-driven architectures and solutions to enable real-time, asynchronous integrations across multiple platforms. Automates Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using DevOps best practices and Jenkins to ensure efficient and reliable delivery. Performs proactive troubleshooting and application traffic analysis to maintain system performance and stability. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participates in architecture design teams.
- Defines and implements application-level architecture.
- Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
- Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
- Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
- Responsible for meeting project goals on time and on-budget.
- Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
- Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
- Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
- Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
- Advises senior management on technical strategy.
- Mentors junior team members.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
- Applies Agile methodologies, including SCRUM, to plan, prioritize, and deliver complex technical solutions.
- Facilitates sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups to ensure iterative progress and alignment with defined deliverables.
- Establishes and monitors project plans for initiatives of divisional scope, ensuring alignment with timelines and business objectives.
- Influences stakeholders at the divisional level, facilitating collaboration and driving consensus on technical strategies.
- Ensures post-installation validation and proactive troubleshooting to maintain system stability and performance.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing software applications using programming languages -- Python, Ansible, and ServiceNow Forms.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing software applications using programming languages -- Python, Ansible, and ServiceNow Forms.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing Application Programming Interfaces (API), microservices, back-end and front-end development, using Python, JavaScript, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Lambda.
- DE architecting and implementing event-driven systems and solutions to enable real-time, asynchronous workflows across distributed platforms, using AWS Lambda, messaging queues, and microservices to ensure scalability, resilience, and high performance.
- DE developing CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure deployment using Terraform, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, uDeploy, and automation status result dashboards.
- DE performing SNOW Form development using JavaScript and SNOW modules; building Test Automation Frameworks using Python; writing automated test scripts; and integrating automated test scripts with Jenkins.
