The Role
Do you thrive at the intersection of hands-on craft and strategic leadership? Fidelity Charitable is looking for a Director of Web Experience to lead the team responsible for building and continuously evolving the digital experiences that connect us with donors, financial advisors, and nonprofit organizations. This is a rare opportunity to shape the web presence of one of the largest grantmakers in the United States — where your work directly supports the movement of billions of dollars to charitable causes. If you are energized by building teams, getting into the details of a CMS, and influencing the digital strategy of a mission-driven organization, this role was made for you! In this role, you will be:
Leading a team of web publishers and UX designers, developing talent, balancing workloads, and fostering a culture of craft, accountability, and continuous growth
Building and managing digital experiences hands-on in Adobe Experience Manager, including working within AEM Assets, Content Fragments, and the author interface, and partnering with CMS developers to improve the authoring experience and increase team productivity
Owning and presenting a clear and concise web roadmap, managing the CMS development backlog in partnership with the Director of CMS Development, and communicating prioritization decisions to stakeholders and leadership
Overseeing UX design work and enforcing brand and content standards across both public-facing and authenticated digital properties, ensuring every experience reflects the quality and purpose of the Fidelity Charitable brand
Driving experimentation, personalization, and conversion optimization using tools such as Adobe Target, ContentSquare, Adobe Analytics, and CDP-driven audience activation
Partnering closely across marketing, product, compliance, and technology to translate business needs into clear web priorities and deliver meaningful digital outcomes
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
The ideal candidate brings hands-on Adobe Experience Manager experience and a strong enough technical foundation to understand platform updates, guide the team through technology changes, and partner effectively with CMS developers. You have working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive design — enough to inspect pages, troubleshoot rendering issues, and have informed conversations with engineers when something isn’t behaving as designed. You are comfortable overseeing UX design work, evaluating quality, providing meaningful feedback, and guiding a team toward evolving design standards. Familiarity with Figma and email design considerations is a plus.
You bring a strong ability to understand the underlying business problem before proposing a web solution, and you are comfortable preparing and presenting roadmaps, performance updates, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. You actively follow trends in web experience, CMS technology, and digital design, and you bring new ideas and possibilities to your team. You are curious, ask good questions, and have a natural drive to dig into problems and figure things out.
You have experience with A/B testing and personalization platforms such as Adobe Target, behavioral analytics tools such as ContentSquare, and web analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics. You understand how web experience connects to audience segmentation, CDP-driven personalization, lead generation, and account opening conversion. You think across channels and understand how pages and campaign experiences connect to email, paid media, and other touchpoints.
You are experienced managing external platform vendor relationships, guiding a team through technology and process changes, and overseeing the strategy and content management of virtual assistant or chatbot experiences. You have experience managing web request intake and publishing workflows, preferably using Adobe Workfront or a comparable platform.
7+ years of experience in web, digital experience, or marketing technology
3+ years in a people leadership role managing web or digital teams
Hands-on AEM experience required; AEM Sites certification is a plus
Experience with Adobe Target, ContentSquare, or comparable optimization and analytics tools preferred
Experience with Adobe Workfront or a comparable project management platform preferred
Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards preferred
SEO fundamentals and working knowledge of how page architecture and metadata decisions affect search visibility
