Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of coding experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, or Python.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- 3 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
- 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in Data Analysis and SQL.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.

Google Cloud Storage (GCS) provides a dynamic and challenging opportunity for impact as a software engineer, given its scale, architecture, and growth. The GCS Resource Engineering team plays a critical role in supporting the growth, reliability, and efficiency of GCS, with quantifiable impact on feature teams, customers, and the business.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to build data pipelines for forecasting demand and supply, develop systems to dynamically estimate capacity, and enable top customers who are depending on GCS to store and serve their data. This is a team at the intersection of software engineering, data science, and distributed systems, where engineers develop and apply a various range of skills and solve engineering problems for GCS.

- Write and test product or system development code.
- Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices amongst available technologies (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency,)
- Partner with engineering teams across GCS to estimate resource requirements for upcoming features and infrastructure changes.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Design and develop quantitative models to track and forecast GCS resource demands. Build data pipelines to aggregate, transform, and align demand and supply forecasts. Understanding how industry trends affect customer workloads and resource needs. Analyze resource shortages that result from demand spikes and supply problems.
