Minimum Education/Experience | Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Requires appropriate licenses or certifications to operate assigned types of vehicles or equipment. Must have a valid Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement Licensure to operate any vehicle above a 15-passenger or valid Class C License to operate any 15-passenger vehicle or below. Pass DOT physical, drug screening and background check. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | Two years verifiable motor coach driving experience. Smooth operational skills with excellent defensive driving. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, read maps, and maintain expense and mileage records. Complete incident reports when necessary. Load and unload luggage and assist with passenger boarding. Professional manner, appearance and positive attitude possessing good organizational skills and time management skills. |

Primary Purpose of Position | As a driver at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Transportation & Parking, you will be driving multiple routes based on student demand across the campus. Drivers also will be required to drive over the road buses for various events and activities. Bus drivers will gain an understanding of the entire campus to answer student, faculty & staff questions. It is also the responsibility of the driver to conduct vehicle inspections and ensure the safety of our students, faculty & staff. |
