Position Overview
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
North Carolina Central University School of Law prepares students to pass the bar examination and to practice law. The school of law works to make sure that the students learn the blackletter law and practical skills. The IT Department is a critical unit in the law school because the law school uses technology to deliver legal education and to stay abreast of the impact that technology is having on the practice of law.

Primary Purpose of Position
The manager will direct the School of Law’s information technology (IT) operations, ensuring that the IT department provides efficient and effective technical support service to faculty, staff, and students. The manager will supervise four technology analysts. The manager will work with relative vendors and other stakeholders to make sure that the technology in the law school is maintained and upgraded.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Sound understanding of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases and storage systems
•Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
•Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects
•Solid working knowledge of educational technology software
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
•Team oriented
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science or related field. 1-2 years working in a higher education environment. 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
