The Department of Business Administration is the largest unit within the School and serves students pursuing concentrations in Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Entrepreneurship. |

Primary Purpose of Position | The School of Business at North Carolina Central University seeks highly-qualified applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior in the Department of Business Administration. Selected candidate will exhibit a desire to teach at the undergraduate level, but may also be required to teach graduate courses. Engagement in scholarly research is required. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | Qualifications for this position include a strong record of scholarly publications, preferably in the field of Human Resource Management and/or Organizational Behavior, demonstrated excellence in teaching in the fields of Human Resource Management and/or Organizational Behavior, and demonstrated commitment to engaging collaboratively with the business community and diverse stakeholders. Candidates must exhibit efficient use of instructional technology and the capacity to engage students in their teaching. Applicants must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills and leadership competencies. Human Resource Management professional experience and certification are also highly desired. |
Minimum Education/Experience | Candidates are expected to have a doctoral degree in Human Resource Management, Management, Organizational Behavior, or a closely related field (e.g., Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Industrial and Labor Relations). Applicants should hold degrees from AACSB International or other relevantly accredited programs. Must provide evidence, either by record or potential, of ability to produce scholarly publications in the fields of Human Resource Management and/or Management. |

Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function. | The review of candidates will focus on their teaching, research, service, and alignment with the mission of the School. Primary teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior,and other Management courses, as needed. Selected candidate must be prepared to teach in face-to-face and online environments and have evidence of teaching effectiveness. The selected candidate must also demonstrate a track record, or the potential, for producing publications necessary to comply with the School’s Faculty Qualification Requirements. Service to the School, University, profession and community is also expected. |
