Primary Function of Organizational Unit | The NCCU School of Education offers undergraduate, graduate, licensure and professional development programs to train students to become teachers, principals, counselors, as well as serve as mentors to community schools. The School offers traditional, classroom-based instruction as well online instruction. Faculty and staff bring diverse knowledge and experience, provide students with a unique learning experience; teach in small classroom size for easier access to each other and their instructors, and employ the latest technology. |

Primary Purpose of Position | The primary purpose of this position it to coordinate the pre-award planning, organization, and preparation, and the post-award administration of various grants pursued by School of Education faculty, including the Dean’s office. The position serves as a liaison with to the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs and ensure that grants are in compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and policy requirements. The position provides guidance and support to faculty in the identification of funding opportunities and the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | A successful candidate should have knowledge and experience to: -develop successful grant proposals and other related proposals/reports, -communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, -use personal computers and related software applications, -manage databases effectively, -organize resources and establishing priorities, -understand and apply grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, federal and university regulations. -work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve identified goals. |
Minimum Education/Experience | Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or and equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |

Duties | -Provides consultation to project teams including facilitating meetings to clarify goals of project, implementation plans, timelines, and budget. -Drafting, editing, and formatting proposals including the development and writing of non-technical components, tables, figures, and graphics. -Ensures proposals are formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with agency requirements. -Monitors the administration of the post-award grants to ensure policies, procedures, and agency requirements are followed. -Serves as a liaison between investigators, agencies, and the university’s Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP). |
