Position Overview
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The purpose of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is to prepare students for career and leadership positions in biotechnology/pharmaceutical industries and clinical research organizations. The program includes focus on analytical science, laboratory and clinical research experiences that will provide students with a competitive edge as they enter into Industry, CRO’s or pursue advanced degrees

Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a student recruiter for the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biomanufacturing Research Ins Technology Enterprise (BRITE). The recruiter is responsible for promoting and enrolling students in the undergraduate and graduate academic programs offered in the Department to prospective students from high schools, community colleges, and Universities. This role involves developing relationships with schools, attending recruitment events, and providing guidance to students throughout the applications and admissions process. The individual must be able to work with the academic advisor to recruit qualified students to the Pharmaceutical Science and Clinical Research Sciences programs. In addition, the individual will work with outreach consultants to plan and organize activities related to outreach program for students visiting the BRITE facility from elementary, middle and high schools, and participate in follow up calls and marketing campaigns to meet enrolment goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidate must have a B.S. or graduate degree in a relevant field but a STEM discipline is preferred. Previous experience in academic recruitment or talent acquisition is highly desirable. A good understanding of the Biotechnology and Clinical Research fields, and strong interest in working with STEM students is a significant advantage. Exceptional verbal and writing communication abilities are crucial to this position Experience working at a high school, community college or university admissions office with an emphasis placed on recruitment of STEM students is a plus. Advanced knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Industry is favorable. Basic knowledge of SSB and INB web-based applications are preferred, but not required.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Science Recruiter. Must be able to utilize your degree and prior background to help recruit STEM undergraduate and students interested in Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology and Clinical Research Science. A strong networking ability and aptitude to engage effectively, build and maintain relationships, especially with with counselors, teachers, and academic advisers in secondary and tertiary academic institutions are required. Travels, within the state of North Carolina and occasional work in the evenings and/or weekends representing the BRITE program at high schools, local college fairs, area receptions and STEM related events are also required. Works with guidance counselors, parents and alumni organizations for the main purpose of recruiting students. Plans and coordinates special recruitment events designed to enhance recruitment. Assists in developing marketing materials for both the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Clinical Research programs and recruitment. Able to create recruitment campaigns with the intent of following up with potential students.Manages social media accounts and posts social media content for BRITE and the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Function
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
The successful candidate will develop relationships with guidance counselors, alumni organizations, teachers, and student advisers in high schools, community colleges, and universities for the main purpose of recruiting students for the Department/BRITE academic programs. Organize and attend recruitment events such as college fairs, career days, information sessions, and campus tours.

Provide individualized guidance and support to prospective students and their families about academic programs, admissions requirements, financial aid and scholarships. Maintain regular communication with potential students by phone, email, and social media to provide updates, reminders, and assistance with the enrolling process.

Visit high schools and community colleges to deliver presentations and workshops to educate students about the Department/BRITE. This role requires frequent travel within North Carolina and occasional work in the evenings and on the weekends.

Use tracking tools to keep accurate records of student contacts, recruitment activities, and enrollment outcomes. Collaborate with admissions office and the department’s academic advisor, to ensure an easy transition for prospective students.
