| Primary Function of Organizational Unit | The Office of Budgets and Financial Planning oversees NCCU’s financial operations, ensuring strategic resource allocation, budget management, and fiscal compliance. The unit provides guidance on budgetary transactions, forecasts revenues and expenditures, and supports long-term financial planning. It manages an annual operating budget of $300 million across 150+ financial organizations. |
| Primary Purpose of Position | The Associate Budget Director will work collaboratively with the Director of Budget & Financial Planning to provide budgeting and accounting expertise in assessing the strategic deployment of resources and budgetary allocation transactions. this position will have significant responsibility for the development, implementation and monitoring of a sound fiscal plan in alignment with the university’s strategic objectives, and for continuous improvement of the processes and services within the Office of Budgets & Financial Planning to support and enhance the fiscal stability of the university.The Associate Budget Director will have authority to act on behalf of the Director of Budget & Financial Planning in their absence, and serves as the primary deputy for budgetary oversight for the University. This position must be committed to effective communication with administration, faculty, staff, and students and understand the varying perspectives of the University’s community members. |
| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |

| Minimum Education/Experience | Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, or a closely related field, or Bachelor’s with equivalent experience. Preferred Experience: At least five years of progressive related experience, one of which must have been supervisory in nature. |
