Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The NCCU Department of History offers undergraduate and graduate programs to train students to think critically, analyze information, and write clearly. Our students excel in their chosen field—whether as historians, teachers, doctors, lawyers, or others—and become engaged citizens. The Department of History has a long-established reputation for distinguished scholarship. We are ranked #1 among Historically Black Colleges and Universities for sending graduates to earn a Ph.D. in History and other fields.


Primary Purpose of Position
To teach the history of World Societies and other GEC history courses.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
MA degree in History or related field.
Teaching/Advising experience

Minimum Education/Experience
  • MA degree in History or related field.
  • Experience teaching History at the college level (preferred)
Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation
