Job Description
The Vice President of Institutional Advancement is a highly visible senior leadership role, focusing on enhancing the college’s positive involvement in the service area, resulting in expanded opportunities for faculty, staff and students to increase external visibility, relationships and activities.

Responsibilities:
The Vice President of Institutional Advancement is responsible for cultivating revenue streams and avenues for fundraising and working proactively with the President to ensure the vitality and health of the institution’s budget and advance the SAU’s mission. The Vice President of Advancement is also responsive for building and fostering positive and productive relationships among philanthropic, corporates, and community leaders as well as individual donors vested in supporting and advancing the organization’s programs and services. In addition, the Vice President of Advancement is responsible for the development and execution of the marketing plans, including strategies to engage with target audiences to enhance the brand, increase customer loyalty and retention and support organizational and business development objectives.

Saint Augustine’s University (SAU), drawing on its rich legacy as an access institution, is a student-focused, comprehensive educational institution that produces outstanding graduates prepared for personal and professional success. SAU was established in 1867 in Raleigh, NC by the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina. A four-year liberal arts university with an average enrollment of approximately 1,000, SAU sits on 105 lush acres just north of Downtown Raleigh, NC. The institution offers more than 20 undergraduate degrees and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

Required Qualifications
Experience in higher education
Preferred Qualifications
Five (5) years of senior level fundraising experience in university advancement and/or development with a successful record accomplishment in direct solicitation, prospect management, annual giving, major and planned giving management, alumni affairs, and public relations, marketing and communication is preferred.
Master’s degree is preferred.
