Job Description
The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching students in the Exercise Science Program. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have experience teaching courses such as Graded Exercise Testing and Exercise Prescription at the college level. Candidates must also have a master’s degree or Ph.D. in Exercise Science, Public Health, or Kinesiology, or a Doctor of Athletic Training with a solid commitment to undergraduate teaching.

Responsibilities:
  • Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi
  • Supervising the study and learning activities of students
  • Evaluating the academic progress of students
  • Submitting course grades and performing other administrative duties as required
  • Scheduling office hours
  • Providing reasonable accommodations to students with documented disabilities
  • Regularly communicating with the discipline coordinator on issues related to student performance

Saint Augustine’s University (SAU), drawing on its rich legacy as an access institution, is a student-focused, comprehensive educational institution that produces outstanding graduates prepared for personal and professional success. SAU was established in 1867 in Raleigh, NC by the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina. Required Qualifications
  • Cultural sensitivity to diverse populations
  • Openness and willingness to request, receive and provide constructive feedback
  • Competence with Microsoft Outlook and Blackboard
  • Experience in distance learning teaching with Zoom or Teams or Blackboard Collaborate Ultra
  • Experience in in-person teaching in a “Smart Classroom” equipped with a laptop/screen/touching board
