ROLE: Development Partner (Director, Development)

TEAM: North Carolina Development Hub

REPORTS TO: Senior Managing Director (SMD), Development Operations & External Affairs

LOCATION:  Triangle (Raleigh/Durham)

THE ROLE

The Development Partner will serve on the North Carolina Development Hub as a member of the frontline fundraising team working directly with a portfolio of donors in Triangle. This role is for you if you are deeply curious about what motivates people, enjoy exploring the interests of diverse donor audiences in order to tell Teach For America’s story of impact in compelling, persuasive ways, and are eager to grow investments in Teach For America with long-term fundraising sustainability in mind.

With an annual revenue target ranging from 1 to 3 million over the next 5 years, the Development Partner will focus on expanding gifts in the 1K-250K giving ranges, through a portfolio of individuals, corporations, and family foundations. Your charge is to create an experience for current and potential supporters that is inspiring, consistent and informative, with a focus on your annual revenue target, key progress through the donor pipeline, and other non-revenue-based performance metrics.

As a frontline fundraiser, you will directly solicit, cultivate, and steward the interests and motivations of prospects in your portfolio, and at times leverage our leadership network of executive fundraisers, executive directors, board members, and other champions to solicit and hold relationships based on the strategy you set in place.

As a key strategist for the Triangle market, you will work in close partnership with the Co-Heads of Development in representing development efforts to the appropriate regional advisory board and to the NC Executive Director (ED).
