Purpose of Department:
The Office of Human Resources is a centralized office that supports all aspects of work at Peace. Summary of Position:
The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator serves as an integral part of the Office of Human Resources, managing administrative HR functions related to recruitment, hiring, onboarding, separation, data and file management, and event planning. The HR Coordinator works with the HR team to address requests, complete projects, create procedures, etc. for their areas of assignment. Reporting to the Associate Vice President/CHRO, the Coordinator serves as a first point of contact for the HR Office to the faculty, staff, and students of the University.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Primary Duties

  • Serve as the first point of contact in the Office of Human Resources to employees and visitors, greeting individuals professionally and determining needs.
  • Monitor the Office of Human Resources inbox and pass along messages to the appropriate members of the HR team.
  • Maintain and keep up to date Pacer Perks, Peace’s employee perks and discounts program. Research and implement new perk and discount ideas fostering relationships with vendors.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to routine inquiries from employees and external parties including but not limited to address changes, direct deposit changes, accessing tax forms, tuition remission/exchange, verifications of employment/education, and basic HRIS troubleshooting
  • Provide great customer service and refer matters outside-of-position scope to others within HR or in other offices as needed.
  • Manage employee personnel files, both electronic and physical.
  • Process transactions associated with new hires, compensation, employment changes, and terminations including processing Form I-9’s for new hires.
  • Manage the student hiring process, including but not limited to assisting hiring managers with job postings, generating offer letters and processing onboarding tasks such as HRIS setup and I-9 processing.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Financial Aid and hiring managers to onboard new and returning Federal Work Study students.
  • Facilitate I-9 compliance, auditing and following-up as necessary.
  • Assist the Office of Academic Affairs with part-time faculty hiring and onboarding, including processing returning adjuncts.
  • Support the HR Office with event planning and set up, including employee appreciation and engagement events, employee award ceremonies, etc.
  • Maintain the Employee Breakroom and ensure federally mandated postings are up to date
  • Provide other administrative support to HR team members as requested.
Secondary Duties

  • Partner with the CHRO to create and disseminate HR communications including the HR Newsletter.
  • Assist the HR Generalist in scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate travel, and other administrative aspects of recruitment
  • Assist the HR Generalist with Adjunct and temporary staff hiring
  • Assist the CHRO in maintaining the Human Resources intranet page
  • Assist the HR Generalist in maintaining the compliance training portal and assigning training
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and one year of experience performing similar HR functions or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • High level of proficiency with Google Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field with experience in higher education; bilingual speaking proficiency in Spanish/English.
