Purpose of Department:
The Office of Admissions seeks to attract and enroll a diverse student body for our non-traditional program who are academically strong, ethical, and positive members of their community in a positive work environment that encourages ingenuity, collaboration, and excitement.

The RN to BSN program provides online and classroom-based programs of study that are responsive of students’ needs preparing them for lifelong learning, meaningful careers, and ethical citizenship through intellectual opportunities in a student-focused environment.
Summary of Position:
The Nursing Admissions Recruiter reports to the Director of Online Enrollment and Strategic Partnerships and recruits students for the RN to BSN program by conducting outreach to targeted individuals, attending in person and/or virtual events and communicating with prospective students through all funnel stages. The goal is to increase enrollment in the program.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Participate in recruitment events, such as at healthcare agencies or community colleges, to meet with prospective students or attend meetings at targeted locations with identified partners on a regular (weekly or biweekly) basis. Recruitment events will occur in a targeted area of approximately 25 counties within and around the Triangle.
  • Identify potential partners at local hospitals, healthcare employers and community colleges and aggressively establish relationships to foster future leads.
  • Follow up on leads from various sources (ie list purchases) to encourage applications.
  • Facilitate communication with RN to BSN prospects/applicants at all funnel stages (inquiry through to deposit), encouraging them to take the appropriate next step. Communication to students may be via phone call, email or virtual meetings.
  • Support the Director of Online Enrollment & Strategic Partnerships and RN to BSN Program Director with planning, implementation, and participation in all information sessions and RN to BSN recruitment events. Regular travel is required in order to be present at on-site recruitment events (i.e. hospitals, community colleges, etc.)
  • Meet with the Director of Online Enrollment & Strategic Partnerships and RN to BSN Program Director weekly or biweekly to discuss application status of students and recruitment initiatives.
  • Meet with the Vice President of Enrollment Management and the Assistant Vice President of Admissions as needed.
  • Work independently and maintain professional and confidential relationships with students and staff.
  • Working hours include daytime, evenings, and possibly weekends. Some work hours will be in person, and some will be remote. Admissions Department staff meetings are on Mondays and attendance on campus on Mondays is strongly encouraged.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing with two years of experience as an RN. Excellent computer skills, customer focus, and awareness of adult learner needs. Current, active license as a Registered Nurse
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in nursing; previous experience in nursing education or teaching/precepting nurses.
