Purpose of Department:
The Office of Admissions provides information to high school students and transfer students who are interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Peace.

Summary of Position:
The Regional Admissions Specialist resides in the assigned region and operates with a high level of independence to aggressively promote Peace within assigned territories. The assigned territory for this position includes Charlotte, NC; Greenville, SC; and other locations within the southeastern region of NC. The Specialist engages in year-round outreach and engagement efforts to deepen ties with Peace in the assigned areas. The Specialist works creatively to foster a stronger Peace presence within these communities through collaboration with high schools, charter schools, and targeted community colleges in assigned areas. The Specialist works with students, families and support systems, Guidance Counselors, Transfer Counselors and other audiences who have the potential to influence students’ college selection while positively representing the University in order to meet recruitment goals.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Admissions, the individual holding this position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
  • Manage assigned recruitment territory, which includes planning travel to high schools, attending off-campus events, and conducting prospective student appointments and follow-up meetings.
  • Establish relationships with targeted community college Transfer Advisors in assigned territories. This includes Central Piedmont Community College, Davidson Davie Community College, Forsyth Technical Community College and Cape Fear Community College.
  • Conduct aggressive outreach to targeted Charter Schools within these markets that align with our academic offerings and immersive approach to learning
  • Establish strong relationships with school counselors in the assigned territory to facilitate the successful submission of applications.
  • Travel to Raleigh to participate in large-scale on-campus recruitment events.
  • Manage student applications in assigned territory and make independent decisions on applications in a timely manner based on grades, test scores, interviews with Counselors, etc. Present borderline applicants to the Admissions Committee at weekly Admission Committee meetings.
  • Counsel prospective first-year students on navigating the admissions process and financial aid, and generally educate them about the institution.
  • Conduct regular outreach as appropriate and necessary based on funnel conversion rates.
  • Create and implement two Fall School Counselor Breakfasts in assigned territories as well as two other large-scale events in assigned territories – one in the fall and another in the spring – in the second or third year of employment.
  • Interact with family members in managing and supporting their student’s college admissions application and onboarding experiences.
  • Represent the University professionally, positively, and proactively.
  • Interact with diverse populations of students, family members, Counselors, and the public.
  • Travel overnight and multiple days or weeks as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university
  • Three years of recruitment, sales, or administrative experience, preferably related to higher education or other related experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, outstanding organizational skills, ability to consistently meet deadlines and handle information confidentially, self-motivation, and ability to work independently and with minimal direction
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and car insurance
  • Availability for evening and weekend work and overnight travel
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preference is given to those with prior experience as a Regional Admissions Recruiter, Admissions Recruiter, or Admissions Counselor in a University setting.
  • Three years of college admissions processes, higher education administration, or professional experience in marketing or sales
  • Experience with Slate, Higher Education CRM
