Job Title: Consumer Loan Processor Sr.
Position Location: Raleigh, NC. Hybrid position, must live locally.

Job Summary:

The Consumer Loan Processor Sr. manages complex pre- and post-closing reviews and funding for a range of consumer loan product, including home equity loans, credit cards, auto loans, and personal loans. Responsibilities include collecting and verifying loan documentation and security instruments, maintaining accurate loan files, and ensuring timely data entry into internal systems and reports


As a key contributor to the Coastal team, your responsibilities will be:

  • (35%) Processing home equity applications: preparing loan documents, verifying all underwriting documents are ordered and received for completion, conducting verifications by phone, and confirming collateral value, lien perfection, and overall propriety of the loan. Serving as the primary contact for home equity inquiries and receiving loan closing packages to ensure three-day rescission period for funding and production standards is met daily.

  • (15%) Collecting all security instruments such as flood certifications, deeds of trust, real estate documents, and property valuations to ensure compliance with Coastal's policies as well as state and federal regulatory requirements.

  • (15%) Communicating, transmitting, and receiving lien perfection and loan information to and from members, internal team, and 3rd party vendors to originate loans.

  • (15%) Disbursing Credit Union funds in accordance with our lending guidelines and ensuring proper documentation is completed to maintain collateral integrity and compliance with federal lending regulations. Performing support functions such as funding new loan accounts and Episys entry. Ensuring post-closing documentation is received and validating underwriting expenses.

  • (10%) Processing consumer loan applications (to include auto loans, credit cards, and personal loans) for completion and accuracy, verifying information by phone, preparing loan documents and checking all stipulations prior to booking the loan.

  • (10%) Delivering exceptional internal/external customer support by gathering required documentation to complete loan closings and confirming final terms and agreements; proactively troubleshooting and resolving member and internal inquiries; and serving as the point of contact for branch staff, third party vendors, business partners, and members to answer questions related to funding, loan documentation, verifications of application information, and loan application inquires.

Experience:

  • Three years of consumer lending experience including processing of home equity loans, auto loans, credit cards, and personal loans.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
  • Experience with Meridian Link, Episys and/or Synapsis preferred
  • Experience with high volume and fast paced production preferred

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

Must be able to learn and retain information; resolve problems and think sequentially; remain in a stationary position; file for prolonged periods; constantly operate a computer; and converse with others on a continual basis.
