Job Title: Accounts Payable Manager
Position Location: Raleigh, NC. Hybrid Position, must live locally.
Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for the people, processes, and workflows of accounts payable and serves as the financial operations leader responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining an efficient accounts payable function. With a focus on automation of processes, team leadership, and continuous improvement, it ensures coding accuracy; oversees prepaid assets, accrued liability, and fixed assets; and manages vendor relationships.
As a key contributor to the Coastal team, your responsibilities will be:
(50%) Own the end-to-end accounts payable function:
- Develop the operating model and performance standards to ensure all invoices and expenses are entered accurately and efficiently into the Concur system.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of AP automation tools.
- Oversee vendor relationships and contract/purchase order alignment to ensure accountability for both vendors and Coastal.
(20%) Serve as the Concur SME:
- Serve as the key business partner to align AP processes with workflows, provide ad hoc reporting and analysis, and build out monthly ELT reporting for expense monitoring and control.
- Contribute AP expertise to initiatives related to spend visibility, cash flow optimization, and working capital management.
- Resolve escalated issues.
(15%) Optimize processes:
- Design and document standardized AP processes that support business growth and evolving organizational needs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data, metrics, and root‑cause analysis to reduce cycle time, improve accuracy, and increase efficiency.
- Develop and monitor KPIs and dashboards (e.g., invoice cycle time, exception rates, touchless processing, early‑pay discounts) to ensure accuracy of coding and timeliness of payments.
- Use insights and trend analysis to inform leadership decisions and prioritize improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal approvers to resolve variances or implement changes.
(15%) Mitigate risk:
- Ensure strong internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage prepaids and fixed assets, ensuring policies are followed.
- Maintain up-to-date policies to ensure materiality in reporting as Coastal grows.
- Proactivity identify and mitigate risks related to payments, fraud, and data integrity and report to financial leadership.

Experience:
- Eight years of experience in Accounts Payable, Purchase Orders, and Accounts Receivable
- Three years of experience with Concur
- Two years of leadership, team leader, or supervisory experience
- Financial Institution, Fiserv Prologue, and Epysis experience preferred
Education:
- Accounting or other related bachelor's degree; or four years of additional experience in lieu of degree
