The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst is a highly visible, enterprise-impact role focused on shaping how the organization defines, measures, and uses data to drive decisions.
This role goes far beyond building dashboards. You will own and evolve enterprise KPIs, lead complex analytical initiatives, and partner closely with senior leaders to translate data into insight and action. You will define and elevate standards for BI products, metrics, and data storytelling – raising the bar for how analytics is designed, trusted, and delivered across the organization.

Job Summary:
The Sr. Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst leads strategic analytics initiatives, develops enterprise reporting standards, and partners with executives and business leaders to deliver high-impact insights. This role owns KPI standardization, designs advanced BI solutions, and mentors analysts to improve team capability and analytical maturity. The Sr. BI Analyst combines technical expertise, business acumen, and data storytelling to influence organizational decision-making and advance analytical practices across the enterprise.
As a key contributor to the Coastal team, your responsibilities will be:
- (30%) Strategic Analysis & Insights: Lead complex, cross-functional analyses that drive strategic decisions by translating ambiguous business problems into structured analytical approaches and communicating insights to senior and executive leadership.
- (25%) Enterprise BI Product & KPI Ownership: Design, build, and maintain enterprise BI products (dashboards, reports, and analyses); define and document KPI logic; and ensure consistency, accuracy, and traceability of metrics and business rules; and apply emerging BI best practices to improve usability, scalability, and governance.
- (20%) Data Modeling & Advanced BI Development: Develop scalable data models, advanced DAX measures, semantic layers, and reusable reporting frameworks in Power BI and cloud data platforms.
- (15%) Mentorship & Team Leadership: Mentor BI Analysts by reviewing work, providing technical and analytical guidance, and supporting skill development to uplift team capabilities and ensure quality.
- (10%) Collaboration & Partnership: Serve as an analytics partner to business leaders by understanding needs, shaping reporting requirements, and recommending data-driven solutions that align to organizational priorities.

Experience:
- Five years of experience in business intelligence, advanced reporting, or enterprise analytics.
- Expert-level SQL and advanced proficiency with Power BI, including data modeling and DAX.
- Demonstrated experience leading strategic, cross-functional analytical initiatives.
- Experience delivering executive-level analytics presentations or readouts to senior leadership.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. – Snowflake), KPI frameworks, and data governance practices is preferred.
- Experience in financial services is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib) is a plus.
Education:
- Related bachelor's degree; master's degree preferred.
