Job Title: Consumer Loan Processor

Position Location: Raleigh, NC. Hybrid position, must live locally.

Job Summary:

The Consumer Loan Processor interacts with both internal and external customers to complete complex pre or post-closing file reviews and funding of consumer loans (credit card, vehicle loans and personal loans); collects and evaluates loan documents and security instruments; maintains and manages loan files; and documents receipt into information systems or manual reports.

As a key contributor to the Coastal team, your responsibilities will be:

• (40%) Processing consumer loan applications (including auto loans, credit cards, and personal loans) for completion and accuracy, verifying information by phone, preparing loan documents, and checking all stipulations prior to booking the loan.

• (15%) Using electronic systems to communicate, transmit, and receive loan information to and from members, internal team, and 3rd party vendors, as needed, to originate loans, in addition to electronic lien perfection.

• (15%) Disbursing Credit Union funds in accordance with our lending guidelines and ensuring proper documentation is completed to maintain collateral integrity and compliance with federal lending regulations. Performing support functions such as funding new loan accounts and Episys entry.

• (10%) Providing excellent member service by email and phone to obtain any additional items needed to close the loan and to finalize the terms and agreements with the member as needed.

• (10%) Building and maintaining relationships with branch staff, third party vendors, business partners, members, and other internal/external customers to be a point of contact to answer questions related to funding, loan documentation, verification of application information and/or general questions related to a consumer loan application.

• (10%) Troubleshooting and resolving member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.

Experience:

• Three years of financial institution experience including one year of consumer lending experience involving processing of auto loans, credit cards, and personal loans
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
• Experience with Meridian Link, Episys and/or Synapsis preferred
• Experience with high volume and fast paced production preferred

Education:

• High school diploma or GED

Must be able to learn and retain information; resolve problems and think sequentially; remain in a stationary position; file for prolonged periods; constantly operate a computer; and converse with others on a continual basis.
