Job Description
The Recruitment Communication Specialist is responsible for developing media-driven communications for all facets of outreach to prospective students via the recruitment CRM and social media platforms to assist with the admissions/recruitment efforts. The Recruitment Communication Specialist coordinates and supports recruitment efforts that include new student recruitment, outreach, program-specific promotional events, and developing and implementing a marketing campaign to support recruitment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with prospective students in person and via phone, email, text messaging, printed media, and digital
  • Lead the discovery, use, and integration of technology in admissions functions, including artificial intelligence
  • Monitor and forecast changing trends in the application funnel
  • Responsible for and management of the application custom field import via Recruit CRM and all external application databases
  • Oversee the import of student leads (ACT, SAT, ISIR)
  • Travels to visit high schools in assigned recruitment area
  • Travels to attend college day/night programs within the assigned recruitment area
  • Hosts virtual college information programs in targeted recruitment areas
  • Assists with campus visit programs throughout the year
  • Conducts on-campus personal visits and group visit presentations for prospective students and their guests
  • Assists Admissions with data analysis through the utilization of Recruit and Colleague, including weekly enrollment reporting
  • Responsible for knowledge of the Recruit CRM for communication with prospective students
  • Effective interpersonal and public speaking communication skills
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends or as needed
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Able to communicate with a wide variety of individuals both on and off campus
  • Willingness to travel regionally during the fall and spring months
SOCIAL MEDIA RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Social channel management: managing the university’s presence on various social networks, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Content curation: sourcing or creating content that is engaging, relevant, and in line with the brand image
  • Community management: responding to comments from followers or customers on owned channels to build relationships and foster engagement
  • Monitoring and analytics: tracking conversations related to the brand on social media sites to gain insights into customer attitudes and preferences
  • Campaign planning and execution: devising campaigns that promote SAU events on social platforms; playing a pivotal role in developing social media strategies for growth
  • Analytics reporting: collecting data points from all sources—including web traffic referred from social sites—then producing regular reports detailing successes and areas for improvement.
  • Content creation: developing creative ideas which engage followers on multiple social media channels; creating original content (e.g., graphics, videos) for each platform channel optimization: using various social media management tools to ensure posts are optimized for maximum reach; regularly testing new strategies for community engagement.

Required Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Valid passport
  • Valid Driver’s license and a clean driving history is required.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, gender/sexuality, and ethnic backgrounds and identities.
  • Excellent verbal, listening, writing, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
