Job Description
The Department of Visual and Performing Arts seeks an Adjunct Assistant Professor to teach acting courses as assigned. Classes taught will include all levels of acting from beginning to advanced. Work assignments may include teaching daytime, evening, online, and hybrid classes. This position may include student advising and
Mentoring.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach assigned classes in keeping with approved syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials
  • Report student problems to coordinator or department chair
  • Maintain office hours
  • Attend meetings as scheduled
  • Engage in scholarly/creative activities
  • Supervise off-campus learning

Required Qualifications
  • 18 graduate hours in theatre or equivalent professional experience in theatre (at least seven years)
  • Three years teaching experience at college level
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
  • Basic Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
  • Terminal degree in theatre (MFA or Ph.D.)
  • More than three years teaching experience at college level
  • Proven ability to develop and teach online classes
  • Ongoing professional theatre activity
